    Position Summary
    The Director of Development and Communications is responsible for planning and leading all revenue development activities for WARM.  The position is responsible for ensuring the success and diversification of revenue development strategies with emphasis on annual giving, major gifts, planned giving, grant and foundation support, signature special events and third party events.
     
    This position requires an ability to build strong relationships with individual and corporate donors, sponsors, vendors, area churches, Board Members, volunteers and colleagues.  A demonstrated commitment to accountability and measuring outcomes in a results-oriented culture is also required.
     
    This individual is committed to WARM’s vision, mission and values and will be responsible for implementing creative and sustainable donor development programs that capitalize on diverse revenue streams, with a donor-centric focus.
     
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    • Plan, design, implement, analyze and report on all fundraising activities.
    • Oversee the identification, research, cultivation, solicitation, acknowledgement and stewardship of donors at all levels.
    • Prepare for and personally solicit gifts at all levels, in conjunction with staff and key volunteers.
    • Direct the donor management systems working in close contact with development, financial and administrative staff.
    • Supervise staff and work through volunteer leaders to ensure WARM revenue development events, 3rd party and related initiatives are executed to optimal success within current resources.
    • Working with the Executive Director, key staff and Board Members, implement WARM’s long range revenue development plans.
    • Lead creative marketing, messaging and communication efforts.
    • Oversee adherence to branding and image guidelines.
    • Direct public outreach activities promoting WARM and its programs.  This includes public relations, stewardship, special events, website, newsletter, impact reports and social media outlets.
    • Manage event staff to ensure corporate sponsorship goals are met including prospect identification, cultivation and solicitation of new sponsorships along with stewardship of current sponsors.
    • Coordinate gift solicitations by Executive Director, Board Members and key stakeholders, and train as appropriate.
    • Engage with external organizations and professional networks that provide continuing education and opportunities to build long term relationships with donors and supporters.
    • Support Executive Director and Board with other projects and events as requested.
     
    Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s Degree required.
    • Minimum of five (5) years professional experience including responsibility for revenue development of at least $1 million annually.
    • Proven track record in professional revenue development, supervision and leadership of a non-profit revenue development team.
    • Experience with grant writing and revenue proposal generation.
    • Strong organizational skills to plan, implement and administer revenue development events and programs.
    • Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal and public speaking skills.
    • Interpersonal skills and ability to work well with a diverse population.
    • High character and integrity that garners the trust and respect of others.
    • A record of planning and supporting growth.
    • A professional nature with the ability to meet deadlines and quickly establish priorities.
    • Organizational skills with thoroughness, timeliness and detail when working under pressure.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • CFRE preferred.
     
    Work Setting
    • Professional office environment.
    • Regular business hours with some early morning, evening and weekend work for events, etc.
    • No overnight travel required.
