The Lions Club is proud to bring the Children's Christmas Parade and the Rudolph Run again to the Westerville Community!
The race will begin and end at HER Realtors on North State Street at 2:00 PM.
- Those wishing to participate in the run/walk can register through Columbus Running Company: https://runsignup.com/Race/OH/Westerville/WestervilleSertomaRudolphRunWalk.
- Run/walk registration includes a cap provided by Rising Moon Custom Apparel. In addition to the caps, Texas Roadhouse has pledged to put a free appetizer coupon in the Rudolph Run participant’s “Goody Bag”.
- After-the-race snacks will be provided by Costco and Papa John's Pizza.
The Westerville Children's Christmas parade will step off from State St. and Electric Ave. once the last walkers have made the half-way turn in the Rudolph Run/Walk 5K (approximately 2:20pm). Community groups and organizations wishing to be part of the Children's Christmas parade must complete a registration form available at www.visitwesterville.org/aec_events/westerville-lions-childrens-christmas-parade/.
- The parade will proceed north on State St. (St. Rt. 3) through Uptown Westerville to St. Paul the Apostle Church. Onlookers are encouraged to line the route early to cheer on the Rudolph Run/Walk participants.
- The 2019 parade Grand Marshal is former Westerville mayor and city council member Diane Fosselman (now retired). This year's overall event sponsor is Nationwide Children's Hospital, the Parade Sponsor will be Salaita & Emrich Orthodontics and the media sponsor is 104.9 The River.
- Each year the proceeds from the Rudolph 5K Run/Walk cover most of the costs to produce the Westerville Lions Children’s Christmas Parade. In addition, the following Westerville organizations will receive a generous donation from any excess proceeds generated from the run and parade:
- Westerville Caring and Sharing: This is a community-centered organization that reaches out to Westerville City School District students/families who are in need. The purpose of Westerville Caring & Sharing is to help people get back on their feet, especially around back-to-school and holiday times.
- Westerville Public Library: We will be providing the library with funds to provide interpreters for hearing impaired kids during their story and music time events.
