October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month and the time to ask "Is my organization prepared with an effective cybersecurity framework to address growing risks?" As organizational structures evolve, the growing integration and reliance on information technology introduces a variety of risks into how we do business in today’s world. This can be especially true for small businesses and non-profits, but it does not take an enormous budget or complex technology to adequately protect yourself, your customers, supporters, and donors.
Dale A. Dresch, IT Audit Manager at Maloney + Novotny LLC, will address the variety of risks introduced into business with this increasing reliance on IT. He will focus on cybersecurity as it relates to nonprofit organizations and small businesses, and the topics will cover:
- How to identify the threats
- How do they get into our systems?
- How can you prevent it?
- What to do if you have been breached?
