    WESTERVILLE SMALL & LARGE BUSINESS OF THE YEAR AWARDS 

     

     

    The Westerville Area Chamber of Commerce is excited to introduce two awards honoring local businesses for their significant role in driving Westerville’s business climate and economic growth. To be considered for the Large Business of the Year or the Small Business of the Year Award, the business must be setting the standards for excellence and innovation with their business practices and community involvement.  Click here for qualifications.

     

    Winners will be announced at the Annual Meeting and Business Awards Dinner on January 31, 2017.

     

     

    OFFICIAL RULES 

     

    The Westerville Area Chamber of Commerce (the “Chamber”) is proud to announce two new annual awards highlighting businesses with employees in the Greater Westerville area. There are two annual awardsthe Westerville Large Business of the Year and the Westerville Small Business of the Year. The Business of the Year Award Program (the “Award Program”) is open to for-profit entities with employees in Westerville, Ohio. 

     

    1. Benefits of Participating 

    This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure for your company and showcase how your company impacts the Chamber's mission of enhancing the business climate and quality of life in our community. By participating, your company will be recognized for its success and leadership and celebrate its achievements among the greater Westerville business community. 

     

    1. Award Recipients 

    The companies that receive the Westerville Large Business of the Year and Westerville Small business of the Year shall both receive: 

    • Their company names listed as an Award Winner on the Chamber’s website, press materials, and other promotional materials. 

    • Ongoing recognition throughout the year at various Chamber events. 

    • Recognition on stage during the Annual Meeting and Business Awards Dinner, January 31, 2017. 

    • A special award engraved with the company’s name for public display in the business. 

    • Two complimentary tickets to the Annual Meeting and Business Awards Dinner. 

     

    1. Selection Criteria 

    The Westerville Area Chamber of Commerce shall administer the Award Program through an Awards Committee which includes business and community leaders. The Awards Committee will review the nomination forms and determine finalists for the awards based on the responses in the nomination forms. 

     

    After determining the finalists for the awards the Awards Committee may request an interview with an officer or other representative of the company and select the award winners based on the following criteria: 

    • Leadership & Organizational Culture 

    • Business Growth 

    • Community Engagement 

    • Innovation 

     

    1. Eligibility 

    Companies interested in participating in the Award Program must meet certain minimum qualifications. To be considered for the Award Program, a company must meet the following on the date of the application: 

     

    1. Be a for profit entity. 

    1. Be a member in good standing of the Westerville Area Chamber of Commerce both at the time of the nomination and when the award is announced. 

    1. Employ 50 or more employees (to be considered for the Large Business of the Year Award) OR employ less than 50 employees (to be considered for the Small Business of the Year Award). 

    1. Company must not have won either award within the last 5 years. 

    1. Nomination must be received by Monday, November 28, 2016 

    1. Have an office with employees working in the Greater Westerville Ohio Area (Westerville School District and Polaris Parkway area). 

     

    1. Use of Information 

    All information provided in the application form shall remain confidential, except as follows: 

    • With respect to each company  which is selected as an award recipient or finalist, the Chamber may use the company’s name, contact information, and number of employees to promote the attributes of the company and of the Award Program, including, but not limited to, the publication of newsletters profiling the award recipients and finalists, or other internet content, or for promotion and/or advertising purposed in any manner and in any medium (including without limitation, radio broadcasts, newspapers and other publications and in television or film releases, slides, videotape, or distribution over the internet) which the Chamber may deem appropriate. 

    By submitting the nomination form, the company acknowledges and consents to all of the above-listed uses. 

     

    1. Use of Photographs and Recordings 

    The Chamber may use photographs, video recordings or audio recordings of the award recipients and finalists or their employees, in any medium and whether submitted by the award recipients and finalists or taken on behalf of the Chamber, to promote the attributes of the award recipients, finalists and the Award Program, including any promotional material profiling the award recipients and finalists. 

     

    1. Limitations 

    IN NO EVENT WILL THE CHAMBER OR ITS EMPLOYEES BE LIABLE FOR ANY LOST PROFITS OR ANY DAMAGES INCLUDING DIRECT, INDIRECT, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR ANY OTHER TYPE OF DAMAGES, ARISING OUT OF PARTICIPATION IN THIS AWARD PROGRAM, EVEN IF THE COMPANY AND/OR THE COMPANY’S EMPLOYEES HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
