Experience a vibrant business community
More than 2,700 Westerville area businesses employ over 31,320 employees.
Careful planning and sound business decisions continue to make the city a sought-after location for
companies. The City of Westerville offers six business districts and incentives such as tax abatements,
income tax revenue sharing and programs for direct loans, grants and linked deposits.
A council-manager form of government runs the city. The seven-person Westerville City Council is elected
by popular vote and appoints the city manager, who conducts the city’s day-to-day activities.
Because Westerville is the only central Ohio suburb to own and operate its own electric and water
utilities, its businesses and residents enjoy exceptional service and lower rates.
| Just over 700 area businesses are members of the four-star accredited chamber of commerce. |
|
| In 2006, the City of Westerville was one of just 60 national recipients of the Achievement of Excellence
in Procurement award. Granted by the National Purchasing Institute, Westerville received high scores in
innovation, professionalism, productivity, e-procurement and leadership. |
